Digital Social Media Coordinator- ID

We are seeking a Social Media Coordinator to execute and implement social media strategies to drive tune-in, viewer engagement and brand awareness for Discovery Communications’ true crime network, Investigation Discovery.

This role will be working with various stakeholders to ensure engaging content goes live on a regular and timely basis across key social platforms and virtually interacting with Investigation Discovery talent and super fans.

The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about all things social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and more!) and is comfortable working on with timely content plans and calendars.

This position requires a highly detail oriented, organized and assertive individual with excellent communications skills, impeccable writing and editing skills and the ability to thrive in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of social media.

Responsibilities:
1. Execute on social media strategies and tactics to engage fans and drive tune-in

2. Publish content, monitor and maintain social media platforms as well as assist support publishing on channel website

3. Create viewer acquisition strategies to ensure reach and growth

4. Work with digital/social team to execute on social media calendar aligning with network campaigns

5. Collaborate with production, communications, marketing and programming teams to execute original content

6. Create and manipulate photo and video assets for social distribution

7. Engage with fans, talent and online influencers across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and other platforms

8. Work with communications and talent teams to leverage on-air talent across social media platforms

9. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of social/digital experience
  • Highly detailed-oriented and organized with keen ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in very fast-paced environment.
  • Expert written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Snappy copywriting skills a must!
  • Interest in true crime genre a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of (but not limited to), Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat.
  • Experience with social media publishing platforms, such as Spredfast, HootSuite, Facebook Business Manager.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and judgment skills.
  • Flexibility to work some nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in design software (Photoshop/Adobe) is a plus.
  • Experience working in the for a television broadcaster is a plus!
  • Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop competence.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and website publishing best practices is a plus.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
