Uses social media opportunities such as Facebook, Twitter, FlickR, and various social media tools to advertise 19FSS activities and events and provides weekly status reports. Updates media on a daily basis to include accurate event information, answering customer inquiries and representing 19FSS in a professional manner. Editor of all print media including content for bi-monthly magazine, weekly insert in the base newspaper and weekly E-Blast. Assists graphic designer in creating artwork for the activities monthly programs and events and distributes promotional material throughout the base. Creates material for the E-screens and updates internally and manually as needed. Implements social media campaigns, creates online surveys, conducts market research, and develops communication strategies to effectively reach target audience. Tabulates responses, analyzes results and prepares a report to the Marketing Director. Assists in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency and enhance participation in FSS activities. Researches consumer and social media trends and implements as applicable. Prepares and conducts presentations as needed. Monitors and updates the monthly FSS event calendar. Monitors web-site content and assists in updating website under supervision of lead designer. Creates databases for facilities that are separated by customer demographics and markets to those specific demographics. Works closely with Special Programs Coordinator and Activity Managers to ensure programs and events are disseminated to target audiences. Occasionally works at special events and provides or arranges for photographic support for FSS functions. An uncommon tour-of-duty may be required. Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be up-to-date with current digital media opportunities and stay informed on capabilities of new media entering the marketplace. Must have responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices. Experience in writing articles, copy writing and/or press releases necessary. Must be self-motivated and organized and work independently. Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar and punctuation mandatory. General marketing knowledge such as advertising principles and targeting demographic groups is required. Experience developing, conducting and analyzing market research information. Knowledge of desktop publishing necessary. In-Design, Photoshop, Dreamweaver knowledge preferred. Must possess customer service skills. Must be able to work within deadlines. Successful completion of National Agency Check (NAC) is required
