DFP – Sr Analyst – Financial

****This is a position for employment at a Delta Air Lines wholly-owned subsidiary, Delta Flight Products; not Delta Air Lines.****

Delta Flight Products is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the accounting and finance team. Cost and financial accounting experience is preferred. This position will assist in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting deck, the annual budget and the monthly financial forecasts for Delta Flight Products. This position requires effective communication across the DFP organization and with Delta’s Finance, IT and Technical organization. This position is based in Atlanta and will report to the DFP Controller.

• Assist with annual operating and capital plans
• Prepare monthly close general ledger entries and cash flow adjustments
• Prepare financial analyses of all manufacturing variances and present to Controller
• Prepare weekly KPI reports with explanations for variances to communicate to Production Managers
• Prepare plan and forecast variance explanations
• Assist in preparation of capital appropriation requests
• Fixed asset analysis
• Assist in tracking and reporting on DFP project costs
• Prepare and submit balance sheet reconciliations
• Team with Delta’s internal auditors, as necessary, to ensure an efficient and effective audit process, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Analyze perpetual inventory and reconcile to GL weekly
• Maintain a solid understanding of assigned business areas and related strategic objectives, reporting requirements and financial needs
• Aid in preparing presentations to senior management regarding financial and strategic activities for the company
• Help develop both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being
• Prepare Ad-Hoc reports as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required with a focus in finance, accounting or economics strongly preferred; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 18-24 months of recent analytical experience in relevant positions is required. -Must have strong accounting and finance skills.
• Proven time management and interpersonal skills are also critical to this role.
• Candidate must possess robust analytical skills, the capability to deliver results, and excellent organizational skills.
• The candidate must also be a team player and be able to successfully interact with all levels of management.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
• A working knowledge of SAP, Essbase, Hyperion, and Epicor preferred.
