DevOps Engineer

A DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure systems for both on premise datacenters and cloud platforms.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and deploy SQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Kafka clusters.
  • Manage server and orchestration infrastructure such as Docker Swarms and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Familiar with Microsoft .NET programming language.
  • Familiar with microservices / WebAPIs.
  • Build and create automated deployments for containers, pods, and services.
  • Deploy and maintain server infrastructure at scale.
  • Manage logs and alerting.
  • Be part of an On-Call rotation and serve as an escalation point for high priority or highly technical problems or issues.
  • Create and update infrastructure documentation.
  • Mentor other members of the team to improve team skillset.
  • Work individually or part of a team to manage and accomplish tasks, projects, and initiatives.
  • Work with the Information Security team to ensure security and compliancy polices are enforced and met.
  • Install, maintain, patch, and upgrade infrastructure systems as needed.
  • Assist with budget forecasting and planning for all cloud based and On-Premise systems and associated equipment, purchases, and ongoing maintenance costs.
  • Maintain licensing and inventory of all On-Premise and cloud based systems.
  • Build, manage, and deploy Docker containers.


    • Technical Proficiencies:

  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • Virtualization: Hyper-V, VMware
  • Networking: LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, switching, VLAN, VPN, VOIP, firewall, load balancing, proxy
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008 R2 – 2016, Ubuntu Server 14.04 – 16.04,
  • Storage: SAN, NAS, DAS
  • Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS
  • Programming and Scripting Languages: Microsoft .NET, Powershell, PS Core, bash / shell
  • Technologies: AD, DNS, DHCP, SQL, IIS, Docker, Git, VMM, vCenter, , nginx, HAproxy, InfluxDB, telegraf, Grafana, Veeam, Nimble, Mongo DB, Kafka, Ambari, Hadoop, Graylog, Ansible
  • Performs other duties as directed
