Responsibilities

Role Purpose

The Software Developer within the Content Security and Technology team will develop, implement and test viable technologies used to prevent NBCUniversal’s content from being made available online. This position will also work with the team to develop tools that will aide in understanding the pirate ecosystem from a source piracy perspective and to recommend/implement necessary changes in our processes to help limit the availability of this content. This will be made possible through close collaboration with members of the team as well as third party partners to further enhance our automation to ensure that we are protecting our content from mass propagation on the internet.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the automation of fingerprinting and forensics operations
  • Adapt workflows to incorporate new fingerprinting technologies and the required policies to make them effective.
  • Ensure metadata is complete and accurate for all entries into the system
  • Develop new functionalities to allow for more advanced automated forensics and source piracy analysis
  • Implement changes to web front end to help inform business in real-time of the status of piracy on a regular basis
  • Daily support to users and system maintenance/monitoring
  • Work with Content Security Operations and Business Analytics & Research team to develop in-house technologies and applications to support the companies initiatives

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering; Master’s degree preferred

  • 2 years project management & operations experience

  • At least 2 years of related work experience including:

  • Python in a Linux environment

  • SQL and Shell Scripting skills

  • Ability to develop in mixed operating system environment

  • Object oriented programming experience

  • Understanding network transfer protocols including secure streaming technologies
