Desktop Support Technician

The Desktop Support Technician will support desktop operating systems like Microsoft Windows 7, 10 by diagnosing and correcting problems as well as diagnose and correct problems on hardware such as computers, laptops, printers, scanners, plotters, card readers,tablets, cell phones and other peripherals including the ability to diagnose and correct hardware and/or driver problems, perform upgrades, and install new or replacement hardware.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Support staff of 300+office and field users

Install and support all computing devices

On-site installation, implementation and maintenance

Troubleshoot and/or repair desktops, notebooks, server hardware

LAN troubleshooting and all related IT sanctioned peripherals

Performs imaging, maintenance, upgrades and deployment of software and computer hardware Supports end-users via phone, remote support tools and hands on interaction

Skilled in issue determination and resolution Supports Microsoft Office 2010, 2016 application issues

Supports Windows 7, 10 on Dell, Lenovo hardware

Supports wireless connectivity for approved hardware and mobile devices Installs approved applications in a timely manner

Escalates issues and effectively communicate to appropriate personnel for resolution.Documents all work related duties and resolutions

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Deploy and move workstations, printers

Qualifications:

  • MS Windows 10, MS Windows Server 2012 R2 and Active Directory Management
  • Knowledge of VMWare and Virtualization is desirable
  • PC, Laptop, Printer setup in a network environment * Knowledge of Backup Exec is desirable
  • Apple IOS (MacBook, iPad, iPhone, etc.). Galaxy S Android series (tablets)
  • iPhone/Android setup and troubleshooting experience, Mobile Data Management (MDM)
  • Executive support experience is desirable * Microsoft Office and Microsoft Applications (Project and Visio). Support and maintenance of MDM application

Job Requirements:

Must have excellent customer service skills and strong verbal / written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both novice computer users and experienced professionals.

Must effectively manage time to make certain customer incidents are properly responded to in timely manner

Must have working knowledge of imaging, setup, repair and configuration of Dell, Apple,Microsoft related hardware

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (7, 10), Microsoft Office(2010, 2016) and the ability to troubleshoot related issues accordingly

Must have experience with Active Directory administration

Must have working knowledge in the configuration and troubleshooting of network printers/copiers, scanners and other peripherals.

Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and effectively complete assignments within an estimated time frame.

Windows 7, 10 operating system troubleshooting and configuration Microsoft Office 2010 / 2016, configuration and troubleshooting Desktop hardware / software installation, configuration and troubleshooting

Preferred: CompTIA Certifications ( A+, Network+)
