Designer (Product – Hardlines)

Responsible for implementing product design and development of product across all Disney Multi related categories, in line with the vision of the Multi management team. Establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with Licensees and Vendors. Works with licensees on all creative aspects of product development. Coordinates with Manager on new projects and scheduled deadlines, and ensures Manager is kept updated on developments with Licensee partners. Takes ownership of product approvals including creative revisions, uploading and downloading to OPA and other related sites, providing detailed comments that can be well understood by Licensees, and prioritizing approvals within an allotted time. Ensures product design excellence by making any necessary character and product corrections, and creating new artwork when required. Works with Manager and Licensees to translate new concepts into marketable, saleable products and product lines. Domestic travel for onsite product approval may be required, along with visits to Licensees and relevant trade shows. Minimum of 2 years 3D product design and/or character art experience. Knowledge of Toy categories. Proficient in the 3D product design process (including strong sketching and concepting skills.) Highly experienced in the following software applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote and PowerPoint. 3D modeling experience (Rhino, Solidworks, ZBrush, Freeform) a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Takes Initiative and can work independently. Strong creative and innovative design skills. We are looking for a Product Designer with proven experience executing hard lines product design from concept through to production. Candidates should possess strong communication skills both written and verbal, and additionally ensure they are keeping updated on the latest retail, consumer, licensing and product trends. Candidates will be responsible for working with Licensing partners to implement the product design processes, and strategies as set out by the Director, Senior Manager and Senior Designer of the Multi categories. The candidate should also work closely with the Multi team to ensure product formats are delivering against the intended experience for the consumer. The position requires an individual, who is pro-active, forward thinking, can implement product strategies, and is able to manage competing demands from multiple Licensee partners and internal stakeholders. 456188
