Position Responsibilities

As a Designer, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

• Work with the Facilities Design team to prepare and create functional construction drawing plans using AutoCAD
• Collaborate with team members in the Facilities department responsible for the management of the interior and exterior of all Applied buildings, including design, landscaping, maintenance, and space planning
• Interact with internal/external designers and engineers to ensure compliance with all internal procedures
• Process design requests, gather information necessary to create the design, measure and verify existing room or site conditions, analyze building code requirements, and create reports and as-built drawings
• Work with operations, design and construction teams to analyze any potential drawing updates prior to entry into the archives, according to Applied Medical’s policies

Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

• Intermediate to advanced skills in using AutoCAD (2D)
• Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Works well in a team oriented environment
• Organized with strong attention to detail

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

• Good knowledge or experience in designing or preparing architectural drawings for manufacturing facilities and office spaces
• Background or experience in design or construction involving civil, electrical, mechanical and plumbing
• Familiar with California state building codes
• High school diploma, college degree or attended classes (engineering, architecture, interior design, drafting)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Intermediate to advanced skills in using Autodesk Revit (3D rendering)
• Intermediate to advanced skills in using Adobe Photoshop and SketchUp
