The E&I Designer is responsible for assisting the Lead Designer in whatever capacity necessary with generating and assembling a complete design/engineering construction package. The successful candidate is capable of handling a specific series or area of drawings and documents from conceptual to final design. The Designer mentors and oversees the work of Drafters, Assistant Designers and less experienced Designers as required. The E&I Designer may function as a special task, area or module Design Lead.

Detailed Description

  • Assist the lead designer in establishing design criteria for all assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the PEP, SOW, P&ID and Single Line Diagram document and drawings required to begin our design/construction package.
  • Create, update, and revise drawings using manual techniques, Raster Design and CAD software.
  • Assist in preparing engineering calculations and ensure compliance with engineering and drafting standards.
  • Demonstrate strong mathematical, communication, listening, writing, problem solving, organization skills, and attention to detail while working as a collaborative team member and leader.
  • Review drafter and assistant designer work for accuracy and compliance with Company and customer requirements.
  • Understand the other discipline’s and vendor’s responsibilities and the information we required from them.
  • Ensure all design deliverables are completed in compliance with Company and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to drafters and assistant designers.
  • Ensure personnel comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and education in AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of eight years related experience in progressively responsible positions required. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in satisfying the preferred years of experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD, 3-D modeling, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and various document management systems (DMS) available is required. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

Certifications

Associate degree or technical school certification in design preferred.

Additional Details

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:

1. Meet the AES Driver Licenses and Records Policy

2. Required to take and pass a pre-employment UA drug test.

3. Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Test.

4. Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.

The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
