The Reinforced Earth Company is a world leader in the design and supply of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth-related technologies. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. RECo performs all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support.

We are seeking a qualified Designer to join our team in our Reston, VA office.

The successful Designer candidate should have the ability to follow instructions and take initiative within predetermined guidelines, be able to work in coordination with other personnel in various departments of the company and be able to communicate with other technical and construction personnel outside the company.

Responsibilities include:

• Utilization of information supplied by the owner to develop the horizontal and vertical geometric layout for the various products designed by The Reinforced Earth Company using AutoCAD and proprietary programs.
• Reviewing, reading and interpreting contract plans to guide and develop the retaining wall layout.
• Need to visualize and then create details associated with the wall construction.
• Create casting drawings using Auto-cad for different precast concrete pieces.
• Input a list of materials into an Oracle based program.

Experience and Skills:

• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology.
• Strong Math background.
• Strong communication skills.
• Any working knowledge of route surveying and working with construction plans is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD is a must.
