Responsibilities

Provide administrative and maintenance to support to SQL Server Databases. Performing monitoring, backups, error checks, and managing replication. Work directly with Lead DBA to triage and troubleshoot on escalated issues.
Activities:
Install and configure SQL Server instances
Plan and install patches
Backup and restore databases
Monitor SQL Agent jobs and respond to critical job notifications
Monitor SQL Servers for any performance issues and escalate as needed
Evaluate data access and security to ensure that resources are available and protected.
Create documentation and maintenance plans, assigning threshold values
Test Backup/Recovery, replication, fail-over, and disaster recovery activities.
Create, perform, and execute database changes following Change Management structures
Must work well with application support and development teams.
Must work well individually and as part of a larger team.

Qualifications

3-4 years of MS SQL DBA experience
Experience with backup strategies, replication, and DR solutions MS SQL
Experience with Microsoft support structures
Knowledge of indexes, index management, statistics, performance tuning and scaling
Knowledge of PowerShell, Postgres, and Oracle a plus
