Data Privacy Analyst

Rockland Trust is looking for a Data Privacy Analyst to oversee, develop, manage and support our compliance with relevant state, federal, and international privacy laws/regulations.

Reporting to the SVP, Information Security Officer within the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management department, this individual will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing and maintaining our policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). The ideal candidate will execute the operational functions of the bank’s information security privacy program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the bank’s annual GLBA Risk Assessment and drive the remediation of detected gaps
  • Oversee the Bank’s GLBA program implementation on an ongoing basis
  • Respond to GLBA incidents including oversight of remediation and customer notification efforts
  • Maintain inventory of where the Bank stores electronic and paper Non-Public Private Information (NPPI)
  • Assess the elements of customer information currently stored in electronic and paper form to determine what privacy laws need to be complied with
  • Assess compliance status with State, Federal, and International privacy laws; create gap analysis and drive remediation
  • Own documentation updates to policies/procedures and program implementations
  • Partner with ISO and Legal to respond to privacy requests from our customers
  • Create data map of where our data is stored/transmitted with third parties/fourth parties
  • Support other functions within Enterprise Risk Management, including Information Security and Third Party Risk Management functions
  • Qualifications


    Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent role experience
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting or maintaining information privacy programs
  • Experience working in Banking or Financial Services
  • Proficient knowledge of GLBA
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry privacy regulations and standards (such as GDPR, CCPA, and developing state/federal privacy legislations)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams
