Reporting to the Vice President, Information Systems and Security Officer, this role is responsible for using a combination of business intuition and analytical expertise to provide executive and service line leadership with actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making while ensuring data quality and analytical accuracy. The candidate in this role will be critical in analyzing, aggregating and building a data ecosystem from the ground up that will assist in furthering The Family Institute as a data-driven organization. This role requires the ability to respond to the live needs of the business; help solve problems and answer questions as they arise; and holds strong technical abilities to retrieve, manipulate, analyze and visualize data, but also excellent communication capabilities to stakeholders of all levels and skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops a data infrastructure across our organization that allows data to drive business and programmatic decision making.
  • Builds relationships across departments to understand user needs for data.
  • Creates, develops and maintains reports, datasets, ad hoc requests, dashboards, metrics, data generators, etc. for end-users using system tools and databases. Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems.
  • Analyzes and determines data needs for end-users. Accesses, extracts and integrates data from diverse sources residing on multiple platforms and implement data models by combining, synthesizing and structuring data.
  • Conduct data analysis and capture, develop and document data definitions, business rules and data quality requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency and reliability by implementing quality assurance practices; performs quality data audits and analysis. Identify areas of improvement in data collection processes or systems and make recommendations to correct deficiencies.
  • As a subject matter expert, utilizes analytical tools to perform quantitative analysis. Interpret data, analyze results, and identifies key data insights to address specific business questions and highlights findings and implications of analysis to The Family Institute’s stakeholders.
  • Provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights and trends to decision-makers in order to drive business decisions and address business questions.
  • Summarizes analysis into user-friendly deliverables by translating detailed data into business-appropriate communication and recommendations.
  • Applies new perspectives, creative problem solving and inter-departmental connections to improve analytical capabilities.
  • Takes initiatives to design and develop deliverables based on interpretation of findings and business client needs on a wide range of analytical topics.
  • Creates and is accountable for high quality, value driven work that drives business outcomes and data driven decisions.
  • Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or Healthcare Technology. A strong understanding and management of healthcare related applications and data is a plus.
  • Proven experience, ideally in healthcare, with granular data analysis, predictive analytics or analytics technology products. Hands-on experience reading/writing code in a data analyst role.
  • Fluency in SQL or other similar programming languages. Some development experience in at least one scripting language (Python, R, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization and tools such as SPSS, SASS and PowerBI.
  • Experience launching internal metric dashboards and scorecards. You are a data-storyteller who is comfortable communicating results in a crisp and effective manner to all audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Strong analytical skills and can evangelize the use of data for sound decision making across functions. Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with, and influence cross-functional partners.
