Data Analyst

We are hiring talented Data Analyst (Parts and Finance Consultant). The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with the Finance and Parts/Accessories business groups, to understand their business processes and how those processes create, use, update and archive Finance and Parts data. As the Finance and Parts data subject matter expert, the Data Analyst works with business and technical information systems (IS) teams to ensure systems are designed and delivered to leverage and protect our valuable finance and parts data assets.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Data Steward of Data and Governance Delivery, the person in this role will support the Advanced Technology and Data department’s objective in providing the correct data, within a specified timeframe to the appropriate parties and with the proper security.
  • Contribute to the development of annual business and IT application system plans through data knowledge and technology leadership.
  • Consult the development of application and enterprise data architecture, which may include, but not limited to, mainframe legacy data, operational Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), unstructured data stores, data warehouse/marts and ETL processes.
  • Assess finance and parts requirements; analyze the data requirements and architecture of business events that support architecture.
  • Evaluate possible solutions and present recommendations to IT management.
  • Discern the impact of subtle changes in business and technology, and their impact on the data within applications supporting the finance and parts domain
  • Understand the major functions of the primary business units, the data those functions consume, and how that data interfaces to the Enterprise Work within business units to develop long-term data strategies.
  • Define data scope for projects and participate in the evaluation of the design and implementation of application data structures, which may include RDBMS tables and domain object layers.
  • Integrate data across application layers, application subsystems and heterogeneous data sources. Identify and enforce data standards to ensure consistent and maintainable application metadata. Review and validate the quality of the artifacts produced by the data modeling, DBA, ETL and data quality team members.
  • Participate in the definition and design of data security solutions.
  • Govern application development activities to ensure compliance with enterprise standards for data access.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related discipline, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Demonstrated work experience in Finance and Parts/Accessories areas as a Data Analyst or Architect.
  • Experience with the development and communication of long-term business strategies.
  • Experience in the architecture of data; how data is integrated across application layers within application subsystems and business domains.
  • Ability to read comprehend and share complex data modeling diagrams.
  • Excellent written and communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Hands on experience with Master Data Management systems administration and delivery
  • Hands on experience with Data Modeling tools such as: Erwin, InfoSphere, ER Modeler

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team building efforts.
  • Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested
