Seminole Hard Rock Support Services provides Information Technology Services for Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International and their subsidiaries and/or franchises. The Data Analyst specializes in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to provide key insights to the business. This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of gaming and non-gaming information, obtained from a variety of sources.

Responsibilities

The position involves analysis and presentation of information to business owners, including marketing, finance, slot operations, and human resources. It requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodologies, use of reporting and presentation software, and strong communication skills.
These initiatives will be done in accordance with department policies, procedures, and standards to support information systems development and maintenance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must adhere to the Seminole Tribe’s Policies and Procedures
  • Performs complex data analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data
  • Performs data mining and data modeling to facilitate decision making by business owners
  • Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
  • Troubleshoot and research data anomalies and recommend corrective actions
  • Monitor for timely and accurate completion of select data elements (for example, Daily Slot Meter Data)
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Monitor data dictionary statistics
  • In collaboration with business owners, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
  • Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
  • Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
  • Create and present quality dashboards
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc reports
  • Provide timely and accurate progress information to project status reports
  • Provide technical assistance to other developers and systems analysts when needed
  • Work on multiple high priority projects concurrently
  • Employ productivity aids in all aspects of assignments
  • Maintain and enhances technical skills through formal and on-the-job training
  • Respond to and assists with other problem tickets as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields or equivalent education/experience preferred
  • Casino gaming background or experience preferred
  • Five (5) or more years related experience as data analyst or similar postion
  • Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development
  • Proficient in MS SQL, MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Programming skills preferred
  • Adept at queries and report writing required
  • Experience using SAS or other statistical packages is desirable for analyzing large datasets
  • Basic knowledge of statistics
  • Experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate
  • Ability to present complex information in a understandable and compelling manner
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, which includes the upper levels of corporate management
  • Self sufficient, requiring limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations and successful project completion
