Credit Analyst Trainee

California Bank & Trust’s Irvine Commercial Banking Group specializes in providing business loans to middle-market companies with borrowing needs of up to $100 million. The available credit analyst position offers a rare opportunity to join a highly successful and growing commercial banking group which currently manages a $1.2 billion loan portfolio. While CB&T’s Irvine commercial banking group is industry agnostic, lending specialties include: leverage facilities for private investment funds and finance companies (commercial senior loan funds, SFR note & REO funds, mortgage warehousing, auto finance), renewable energy, leveraged and enterprise value lending, owner-occupied real estate and high net worth individual credit.

Position Responsibilities:
Requires a Bachelor’s with a minimum GPA of 3.0 with 3.5+ preferred in the following degree fields: Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field (lending/credit procedures and processes or other directly related experience and/or internships a plus).

A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

Basic knowledge of financial statements and general analysis gained through college coursework.

Limited use and/or application of basic credit concepts.

Ability to work in a team environment with lending officers and staff.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to make sound decisions regarding loans.

Attention to detail and high degree of ownership in work product.

Good PC skills and proficient working knowledge of Excel required (financial modeling, using shortcuts and VBA knowledge a plus).

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s and 6+ months business experience credit analysis experience, lending/credit procedures and processes or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
