Creative Technology Intern

This is a full-time internship opportunity working with our creative team in our California Studio in Newbury Park. The candidate will interact with other design professionals and colleagues at Designworks on collaborative projects in an effort to learn hands-on, real world design problem-solving in the field of user interaction and physical computing. The technologist will be iterating directly with interaction and industrial designers on functional prototyping for a variety of experiences ranging from automotive, aviation, consumer electronics and medical project types. They will also be responsible for helping to set-up and establish a lab space within the Los Angeles studio.

The position requires hardware and software prototyping experience as well as experience in any of the following:

• Interaction Design
• 2D/3D Design
• Fabrication

Internship Date: July – December 2017 (dates are flexible)

Qualifications and Experience
Preferred Major:

Design & Technology, Art & Technology, Media Arts & Sciences, Computer Science

Skills required:

Tools for coding and making (e.g. microcontrollers, Arduino, Kinect, Raspberry Pi, C#, JS, Java, C++, 3D printing, etc.)
