Coordinator SCADA

The SCADA Coordinator provides critical SCADA support and maintenance of a 24 x 7 real-time pipeline control system. The SCADA system allows pipeline controllers in Houston to control equipment and monitor pipelines that span the country. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • SCADA system implementation, integration, operation, support and maintenance that includes data analysis, screen development, database updates, point to point checkout and documentation.
  • SCADA database development of field input/output points required for control center pipeline operations
  • SCADA display screens creation (one-lines, overviews, etc.) for the pipeline operations control center.
  • Work with field technicians for point to point checkout.
  • Interface with Control Center personnel and support team in supporting and enhancing the SCADA systems.
  • Implement and manage work assignments through the MOC process for control center CRM.
  • Function as a lead for assisting SCADA Support with the above responsibilities
  • Operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • On-call rotation for 24 x 7 support of control center.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related technical fields preferred, or commensurate experience is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of SCADA experience or overall experience in oil and gas industry with graduated movement is required
  • The ability to communicate well and quickly trouble-shoot problems is required.
  • The ability to follow instruction according to company policies and procedures is required.
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • The ability to learn in a dynamic and fast paced environment is required.
  • The ability to effectively interact with clients, SCADA Support team and other technical support groups is required
  • Good oral and written communications skills are required.
  • At times may be required to lift up to 40 lbs., transport and/or install various types of computer and SCADA equipment.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, but also work in a small team environment, sometimes under a great deal of stress.
  • Experience in OASyS DNA 7.6 is preferred
  • Experience with AutoSol Enterprise Server (AES) and AutoSol Communication Manager (ACM) is preferred.
  • Experience with Gas and Liquids measurement data processing and analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with the following communication protocols is preferred: Modbus, ROC, PCCU, BSAP, DNP3, Kimray, and OPC.
  • Knowledge of PHMSA CRM and related regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • SCADA/HMI applications experience in the liquids and gas pipelines industry is preferred.
  • The ability to understand P&ID wiring diagrams or other related documentation of piping and field instrumentation such as temperature and pressure transducers, densitometers, flow meters, provers, and samplers is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pipeline operations and procedures is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Ethernet networking, field instrumentation and equipment communication protocols, and pipeline communications is preferred.
  • Experienced in scripting languages such as PERL or Visual Basic is a plus.
  • The ability to contribute to SCADA guidelines, standards and procedures is a plus
