Coordinator of Student Activities

Statement of Job:
The University of Southern Maine seeks applicants to fill the full-time position of Coordinator of Student Activities.

The Coordinator of Student Activities will develop and implement programs that focus on the social, educational, recreational, wellness, and diversity needs of our students. S/he will assist the Dean of Students in offering leadership training for student groups to include program planning, marketing, meeting facilitation and budget management. S/he will be responsible for overseeing the evening and weekend operations of the Brook’s Student Center and Greek Life on the Gorham Campus. S/he will coordinate educational displays utilizing the student center as a passive educational space. This person will coordinate a campus center calendar of events. S/he may be asked to represent Student Activities on interdepartmental committees. The Coordinator collaborates with students and staff to facilitate student success, enhance the quality of campus life, foster leadership and create an inclusive and welcoming campus environment.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree

3-5 years of experience in a university or college environment

Preferred:
Master’s Degree

Experience in college student leadership, student activities, group facilitation skills, supervision.

License/Certifications:
Ability to provide own transportation (fully-insured vehicle), provide proof of a valid driver’s license, and compliance with Maine law regarding vehicle insurance .

Salary range: mid 30’s to low 40
