Consumer Relations and Regulatory Specialist

Tasks

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge and understanding of financial industry regulations and laws, including, but not limited to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Supervision & Examination Manual and Credit Reporting Resource Guide (i.e. Metro 2 Guide)
  • Conduct research, provide documentation, and response for all non FCRA consumer complaints from all direct and indirect channels within closure target timelines
  • Research and respond to all allegations of UDAAP or discrimination
  • Assist in the management of the CFPB complaint portal including review, research and response to filed complaints
  • Assist the CS Senior Compliance Analyst on FCRA related consumer disputes where appropriate
  • Act as the assistant Complaint Management Software (Global 360) System Administrator
  • Partner with all appropriate business units to establish, implement and maintain working instructions and internal controls over the entire PFS complaint handling process
  • Provide recommendations and action strategies to key business stakeholders and leadership

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial services operations (captive automotive experience preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ Customer Service and or Collections experience with an emphasis on handling escalated customer calls.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, ECoA, state financing and leasing laws
    Knowledge of credit reporting related systems, technology and external agencies to include FiServ, eOscar and main Credit Reporting Agencies (Experian, Trans Union and Equifax)
  • Understanding of automotive financing principles, strategies, systems, processes, and industry benchmarks
  • Proficient with MS Office Products
  • Demonstrated research, deductive skills, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Conceptual thinking, negotiation, and persuasion skills
