Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new technologies for a large ERP system.

Skills

  • Experience with vb.net, Visual Studio, SQL Server 2016, jQuery, and ASP.NET Web Forms.
  • SQL Database design. Experience with all types of SQL server objects. Knowledge of 3rd and 4th normal form methodology
  • Planning and organization skills
  • Attention to detail and capacity to grasp concepts easily
  • Perform under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlines
  • Work in a logical and systematic manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming required
  • Industry experience as a computer programmer a plus
  • Experience with Pervasive SQL a plus
  • Mandarin speaking is a plus

Major duties described below:
Develop and program tools using Visual Basic Applications (VBA) in Excel, Word, and Access to facilitate data collection and database management for CDC-funded programs, including Ebola related infection control and patient safety related activities.

Develop and maintain linked SharePoint/Access database including report generation using advanced SQL queries.

Develop fillable Adobe pdf documents

Develop and maintain technical expertise in the function and use of the SharePoint platform as a method of communicating technical assistance information to state public health agencies and other critical partners, including thorough understanding of the application from a user perspective.

Develop and maintain technical expertise in the function and use of Excel and other data management platforms as a method of data exchange between DHQP/PRB and state public health agencies and other critical partners.

Maintain and update DHQP/PRB-developed assessment tools, including VBA coding to allow for data extraction and summarization, and make modifications and improvements as needed.

Perform analysis to develop data and business process models to facilitate evaluation of CDC-funded health department program impact

Conduct analysis, monitor data quality, and disseminate data related to the DHQP/PRB management of CDC-funded health department programs in reports and presentations to DHQP leadership to accomplish public health program goals

Provide general information systems and informatics support to Prevention and Response Branch activities

Provide technical support to external partners using assessment tools and data extraction tools. Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience or minimum of 6 years to satisfy education and experience requirement.

3 years of experience in system design, system analysis, and business analysis experience.

3 years of experience with Visual Basic Applications (VBA), MS Excel, Word and Access and MS SQL Server.

Strong ability to interact with scientists, end users, other developers, external partners, and management to determine system parameters and requirements throughout the development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in a public health environment

Experience in a government environment.

General knowledge of infectious diseases.
