TerraNova is looking for a Computer Operations Support 3 for our client.

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 6 Months Contract to hire

Job Description:

Top Requried Skills / Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in computer operations support
  • AS400, IBM Mainframe, Remedy ticketing system, HP Openview experience
  • Phone call handling / good customer service skills / able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Proficient technical documentation skills for notating tickets
  • Able to multi-task In a centralized environment, responsible for setting up, coordinating, and monitoring the operation of computer equipment. May involve verifying data and performing clerical tasks in the data processing function. Examines, revises, approves and dispatches input and output materials according to established specifications. Using established programs and procedures, manipulates controls in accordance with standard procedures, runs diagnostic tests to detect machine malfunctions, and monitors control panels, magnetic tape units, and other peripheral equipment. Reports any observed deviations from standard performance. Independently handles high impact, critical tickets/incidents. Determines criticality of issues and necessity to escalate as a business impacting event. Initiates escalation process by paging Business Unit or senior management as needed.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

2+ years computer operations support experience

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Computer Operations Support
  • Data processing experience, reading, writing, and intermediate arithmetic skills, ability to use specialized equipment, maintain written records, and operate workstation PC equipment.
  • Proficient knowledge of McKesson applications and hardware running in the data centers. Proficient technical documentation skills to produce meaningful and useful tickets.
  • Attention to detail. Platforms: AS400, Mainframe, Remedy ticketing system, HP Openview. These positions may be on varying shifts and cross-shift work may be required. May be required to work on holidays as well.
