Computer Network Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Windows Server engineer with a strong curiosity of technology, the ability to identify and correct root causes, passion to develop excellent technology solutions, and discipline to deliver consistent results. The ability to communicate with clients, teammates, and service providers effectively is paramount.

The successful candidate will provide technology direction and solutions for a variety of small to mid-sized clients in healthcare, financial services, engineering, manufacturing, and distribution located locally and across the US from our Appleton, WI office. You will be responsible for implementation of products and services, and providing service delivery oversight to achieve best in class service delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Take excellent care of our great clients!
• Collaborate and innovate with service delivery teammates to develop new products and processes.
• Provide operational support and technology consulting services.
• Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows Server, Windows desktops, and network equipment.
• Triage, diagnose, and resolve technology issues quickly and implement preventative measures.
• Provide pre-sales engineering support to sales personnel.
• Install equipment, software and provide technical support.
• Document business processes, including system and network diagrams.
• Position requires off hours on-call availability, home office, and automobile with insurance coverage.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Must be able to work independently with initiative, be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated expertise deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
• Demonstrated expertise deploying and supporting VPNs, firewalls, routers, remote access, WAN, and MPLS networks. Desire SonicWall UTM, SRA, and Mobile Device Management experience.
• Must know data back-up and recovery and antivirus systems. Experience with Veeam, ShadowProtect, Acronis, and Datto desired.
• Experience supporting MS SQL Server and MS Terminal Server environments required.
• Demonstrated technical documentation skills
• Basic project management and financial skills related to project budgeting and reporting.
• Knowledge of server virtualization technologies (VMware and Hyper-V).
• Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar discipline, along with eight or more years of demonstrated ability to perform at the highest levels.
• Prior experience administrating a small to mid-sized business IT environment a plus.
• Certifications from Microsoft, CompTia and SonicWall desired.

Salary: $40,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year
