GRADE : 18

TEAM : Consumer Co m pliance Testing

REPORTS TO: Consumer Compliance Testing Manager

LOCATION: B i r m ingham

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Generally, this position will have responsibility for performing assessments and providing results of the compliance with federal laws and regulations. This will be accomplished by performing periodic reviews and monitoring through transactional testing and process and policy reviews. Additionally, the position will prepare and/or review reports on results of compliance testing with documented results and communicate them to the Compliance Officer or possibly senior management. This position will also be responsible for the tracking of any issues identified during said reviews and ensuring that appropriate controls are implemented to remediate issues within the specified timeframe.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform testing to evaluate compliance with federal laws and regulations Review, evaluate and document compliance testing results before presenting to the Consumer Compliance Officer and Consumer Compliance Testing Group Manager. Escalate identified issues to management, as necessary Discuss issues with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) so that they are apprised of the issues, can provide guidance to the line of business and provide recommendations for the implementation of corrective action in an effort to resolve identified issues Prepare written communications with review results to Compliance and Line of Business management Key participant in the development of the risk based schedule of controls to be tested each period Perform special projects, testing or special reviews, as necessary Other duties related to compliance as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements for Compliance Officer I Bachelor’s degree with accounting or finance emphasis preferred. Experience may compensate for some or all educational requirements. Four+ years of experience of quality control processes, internal audits, external audits or compliance testing Excellent leadership ability and organizational skills Proficient skills using Microsoft Office tools Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) results and business implications with all levels of management Ability to assess the compliance risk that identified issues may pose for the Bank, Line of Business and related processes Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and projects Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines is critical Excellent report writing skills

Preferred Qualifications Professional certification or advanced degrees such as a CRCM, CPR, CBA, CPA, MBA or J.D. desired
