CUPA-HR is seeking a Communications and Marketing Specialist who excels in marketing communications and project management.

This individual will work collaboratively with the director, team members and other departments to produce many of the association’s print and digital projects, such as conference materials, conference websites, chapter marketing emails and more. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in project management, writing, editing, marketing and design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in the implementation of CUPA-HR’s marketing plans
  • Works with the graphic designer to create and update content for CUPA-HR’s conference websites
  • Works with the graphic designer to write and produce digital and print materials using InDesign for CUPA-HR’s conferences
  • Creates and edits supplements for CUPA-HR webinars and workshops, using prepared templates
  • Develops timelines and manages projects through the review and editing process across multiple departments
  • Assists in the management of the Communications and Marketing e-mail calendar
  • Prepares and sends CUPA-HR chapter e-mails and transactional e-mails associated with digital and face-to-face events
  • Provides writing, editing and proofreading support, as needed
  • Assists with other projects, as assigned

ASSIGNMENT, REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF WORK:

Position reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing, with direction and guidance also provided by other directors who depend on the services provided by the Communications and Marketing team.

RESPONSIBILITY AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

The incumbent exercises independent judgment in executing communications and marketing functions, including project development and management of timelines and processes, and determines priorities consistent with the goals of the association and established standards and priorities. Individual should handle assigned functions independently and accurately and within an appropriate time period. Further, incumbent must represent CUPA-HR in a professional, accurate, and responsive manner when handling external and internal communications. Also, incumbent must maintain confidentiality of association information.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

This entry-level position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and demonstrated marketing and writing experience. Other requirements include:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff in other departments and at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage projects independently
  • Ability to manage multiple and, sometimes, competing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with InDesign
  • Working knowledge of print, digital and social marketing fundamentals

Additional desired skills and abilities include:

  • Experience with an e-mail marketing platform such as Informz or Constant Contact a plus
  • Experience with Dreamweaver and WordPress a plus
  • Basic knowledge of HTML a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position is a regular, full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Some evening hours, weekend work and travel may be required.

ANNUAL SALARY:

Low to mid $30’s commensurate with qualifications and experience.
