Serves as the lead Recruiter for the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Recruits prospective students and provides guidance on the application process. Explores emerging markets for FIU.

  • Serves as the lead Recruiter for the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Represents the Chaplin School on professional forums, groups and committees as required. Facilitates presentations to a range of audiences, including potential students and their parents, staff in schools and colleges and visitors.
  • Arranges visits and tours for prospective students and parents.
  • Advises applicants on admissions policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Works closely with the Director of Recruitment in executing a recruitment plan. Develops, analyzes and interprets recruitment reports and monitors data to track recruitment performance and enhance recruitment strategies (ie: yield management , forecasting, etc).
  • Meets student enrollment targets consistent with critical performance indicators.
  • Implements strategic and tactical initiatives to recruit and admit students into the undergraduate and graduate degree programs of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, as well as recruit and admit students in other degree related and certificate programs that may be offered through the school.
  • Visits high schools and colleges, speaks with groups and individuals, and meets with counselors, advisors and administrators in order to recruit and admit students into programs of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
  • Proactively and assertively follows up on inquiries through a variety of communication channels, and cultivates enrollment interest through the point of application and after acceptance.
  • Effectively and professionally represents the school at events and, as needed, transports, sets up and dismantles recruitment booths, displays, exhibitions, props and materials.
  • Determines and understands prospective student interests, aspirations, educational needs and career goals, as well as other germane information, offering compelling connections between those aspects and enrollment in the school’s programs.
  • Stays current and knowledgeable about academic content within the school’s academic programs, and is aware of industry trends/employment relative to the school’s degree offerings. Is prepared to present up-to-date information on peripheral recruitment/admission concerns, including financial aid, veterans affairs and international student issues.
  • Manages recruitment for geographic territory. Travels throughout the region to represent the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management by conducting informational sessions, participating in education fairs and other recruitment events and liaising with key partners and facilitators in fairs which may require travel and overnight stays. Recommends new territory outreach. Recruits in new geographic areas.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree 4 years of experience or a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience.
