College Intern

This is a temporary position involving various duties that will either supplement the student’s major field of study &/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student’s education & meaningful preparation for future professional employment.

Student will receive hands-on training in proper procedures for the inventory &/or inspection of storm sewers & culverts. Works in the field with Highway Technician(s) to perform hydraulic analysis of drainage facilities & to collect data (e.g., location (i.e., latitude & longitude) of underdrain outlets, storm sewers, & other drainage structures) for the inventory & inspection of drainage facilities utilizing various survey tools (e.g., tape, wheel, survey pole, mobile devices).

Performs support functions (e.g., data input, maintains accurate data of work performed, organizes materials & compiles information to assist in report preparation) utilizing a computer & various software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).

Minimum Qualifications:
You must complete your first year of schooling to qualify.

Must currently be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing

**Civil Engineering preferred.

Major Worker Characteristics:
Major Worker Characteristics: If operating a state owned vehicle, must show proof of valid driver’s license.

Supplemental Information:

These positions are overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
