COBOL Developer w/ JAVA

We have COBOL backend Java Front. Moving from Cobol to Java

Responsibilities:

• Design and Architecture Level Contribution
• Develop the Business process for mCarrier Web applications.
• Develop SOAP web service
• Integration and Unit testing
• Deployment
• Define the conversion techniques and designing the conversion algorithms
• Construct the conversion methods/programs and configuring the conversion tools
• Iterate the conversion:
• Running the legacy database through the conversion programs/tools, and analysing results and exception reports
• Correcting data on legacy database (“data cleansing”) and adjusting the conversion programs and tools, until an acceptably “clean” run is achieved; this data load is used for integration and acceptance testing (both System Test and User Test). Nearing implementation, the conversion test is iterated to discover any new/latent data issues in the old database, and these are cleansed
• Schedule the cutover, halt production on the old database, and convert the data into the new database

Environment: Java/J2EE, Struts 1.2, jQuery, Bootstrap, SOAP, RAD 8.5, Web sphere application server 8.5.1, CloverETL 4.0.6 and Oracle 12C/11g

Education: BS degree in computer science or math, preferablyExperience: 6+ yearsWork Status: Eligible to work in the U.S.Required Skills: – Experience in the software development life cycle from requirements to production deployment- Strong individual and team-based software development skills- Strong data analysis skills- Strong documentation skills

– Specific skill in a majority of the following: JAVA (JDK 1.5/1.7/1.8), J2EE, JSP, SERVLET, EJB, HTML5, JAVASCRIPT/JSON/AJAX, CSS3, ASP, JDBC, SQL, ORACLE and PostgreSQL, IBM RAD 6.x/7.x, IBM WEBSPHERE 7.x/8.x, ECLIPSE, XML, STRUTS, Web Service development (Consumer/Provider), LOG4J, iTEXT, POI, CVS, ANT, WINDOWS
