Job Description :

• Take medical histories and verify patient information
• Compile all health insurance information for submission to Billing Dept
• Directs patients to triaging area prior to health care appointment
• Assisting the physician during the examinations as needed
• Collect and prepare laboratory tests on the premises
• Provide additional information to patients about medication and special diets via various phamplets and educational information
• Authorize medication refills as directed and telephone prescriptions to the pharmacy as required
• Completes records by recording patient examinations, treatment and test results into EHR/EMR as needed
• Abide by all HIPPA regulations
• Ensure all patient information is protected at all times
• Meets all Joint Commission Standards and Guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Medical Assisting OR Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program
• Current and unrestricted certification through the AAMA, AMT, RMA, or NCMA
• Minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Medical Assistant
• Experience in a Primary Care setting required
• Current Basic Life Support Certification from the AHA
• Immunization Record including:
• TDAP
• HEP B
• MMR
• Varicella
• Current Flu
• PPD
