Cloud Services Manager

Must have a strong background in data center and infrastructure technologies and be able to demonstrate a strong consulting delivery background. Candidates must have excellent communication and organization skills, object oriented development skills, documentation skills, self-motivation, project leadership expertise, dynamic management people skills, and maintain outstanding professionalism. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Become the manager for the team, mentor, coach, lead Cloud Service employees.
• Lead planning following agile methodology, prioritization, and coordination of work items within the team as well as with other teams.
• Own the roadmap and infrastructure, automation for Cloud Services. Delegating to employees as needed.
• Build back-end micro-services to manage our data services; become an expert in at least one of the technology we use
• Work closely with stakeholders and developers to design, engineer and maintain highly available services.
• Collaborate with other employees to design and implement maintainable, well tested and well designed features
• Work hands-on with Cloud Services engineering teams to develop, migrate, and debug application issues
• Troubleshoot technical issues and drive issue escalation
• Help IT and business processes that work well with cloud deployments
• Leverage knowledge of Green House Data clients’ environments to assist support engineers and service teams in better serving our clients
• Complete analysis and present periodic reviews of operational performance to client leadership
• Provide detailed reviews of service disruptions, metrics, detailed prelaunch planning
• Participate in client requested meetings (onsite or via phone)
• Engage with the CTO and C-Level executives to understand business needs
• Know and use all key client resolution tools across all service groups to facilitate rapid resolution of client concerns
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years of experience supporting enterprise level infrastructure
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Breadth of experience in the following areas with depth in one or more subject:

• Experience in managing Geo diverse teams.
• Experience maintaining or operating production 5×9 environments 99.999% availability.
• Linux Server Administration
• Windows Server & Application Administration
• Vmware VCP (or equivalent experience)
• Help Desk or Call Center management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7 years of IT/technical industry experience
• Experience in a distributed computing environment highly desired
• Previous experience as a technical lead, with exceptional client (internal or external) focus and bias for action
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of ANY programming/scripting language
• Implementing and supporting carrier class networking
• Experience in deploying, maintaining and supporting enterprise storage architecture (Fiber Channel, ISCSI, Block Storage)
