Cloud Engineer / CHEF Engineer

An exciting Series B based in San Mateo, our Client is currently at 150 employees, looking to double its size by the end of 2017. With 40 data centers scattered worldwide, we have an infrastructure management system which is highly automated and world class. We are seeking smart Linux DevOps and SysOps Engineers to join us on this crusade!

Responsibilities

Contribute to growing library of automation scripts and tools, with the goal to eliminate human interaction from the build to cloud deployment stage

Automate solutions to handle failures such as hardware failure, configuration & network failure, vendor outages and continuous software updgrades

Improve upon existing automated monitoring and alerting systems, including improving team response time and time-to-solution

Maintain SLA’s uptime in a 24x7x365 production environment

On call rotation with team members

Required

Expertise with cloud automation deployment and configuration management with tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible

Creating automated scripts and tools from scratch in Bash or Python (Powershell is a bonus)

2+ years in a Data Center Production Support (or NOC) environment

Performed basic Linux System Administration functions, so you have a good understanding of what tools need to be created

BS degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or similar discipline
