Cloud Engineer

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

You will be part of the team that designs, builds, and supports Code42’s global public and private cloud infrastructure.

• Work with a team of engineers supporting the global Code42 platform.
• Work with the hardware and software which supports Code42’s public cloud and our private cloud products.
• Implement new features used in our cloud systems platform and monitoring systems.
• Work on the deployment, security and operation of Code42’s global public cloud.
• Act as a resource to other groups in the organization.
• Serve in on-call rotation or 24/7 team to respond to escalation of issues related to either the public cloud or private clouds.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Typically holds a bachelor’s degree (usually computer engineering or related), or an appropriate combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with most of, and expertise in some of the following:
• Server hardware and storage
• Linux operating systems
• Scripting/automation/programming skills (bash, go, python preferred)
• Databases (Postgreql, MySQL)
• Systems monitoring
• Java application software
• Data center networking
• Technical documentation

• Attention to Detail

• Team Contributor

PREFERRED:

Have experience with some of the following:

• Cloud computing, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Configuration management systems like Saltstack, Puppet or Ansible
• Large scale computing or storage environments
• Extensive knowledge of a monitoring platform such as Zabbix or Nagios
• Storage hardware including knowledge of hardware and software RAID
• Systems security
• Software development in Python, Go or Java
