Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Summary/Objective:

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO/COO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing. Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services; preparing growth plans; directing staff.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that there are effective internal controls for best accounting practices.
  • Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement.
  • Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations.
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Manage the accounting and human resources departments.
  • Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems.
  • Contribute to Implementing operational best practices.
  • Oversee the issuance of financial information.
  • Report financial results to the board of directors.
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
  • Report risk issues of audits to the board of directors.
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.
  • Arrange for debt and equity financing.
  • Participate in conference calls with the CPS investment community.
  • Maintain banking relationships.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing.
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy, Managing Profitability, Strategic Planning, Vision, Quality Management, Promoting Process Improvement, Forecasting, Corporate Finance, Developing Budgets, Financial Skills, Dealing with Complexity
  • MED Key Badge or the ability to acquire one

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

Compensation

This is a full time 40+/week salary position starting at $150,000 yearly.
