Central Sterile Technician I – Camp Creek Health Center

We’re looking for compassionate and dedicated health professionals who put patients first and always, to join us in opening our new Camp Creek Comprehensive Care Center. Camp Creek is Grady Health System’s first new site development with multi-specialty service offerings. The vision for this health center is to provide ready access to high quality patient-centered care in the Camp Creek community. Grady Camp Creek will include primary care, convenience care (with extended hours), gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, vascular surgery, gastroenterology, and sports medicine/orthopedics. The facility also contains an advanced imaging center, pharmacy, and endoscopy suite. Specialty services will be staffed by our medical school partners: Emory School of Medicine and Morehouse College of Medicine. We are seeking dynamic, patient-centered physicians and nurse practitioners to provide primary care as well as convenience care. The anticipated opening of the facility is early fall of 2018.

SUMMARY
The Central Sterile Technician I performs decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of surgical, diagnostic and clinical instrumentation in accordance with IAHCSMM/ CBSPD , AAMI, AORN, JACHO requirements and recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED and six (6) months of Sterile Processing or Operating Room Technician experience is required; Or an equivalent combination of education and related medical experience.
  • Must possess Central Service Processing Technician Certification from IAHCSMM, or a SPD Technician Certification from CBSPD within one year of hire.
  • Knowledge of sterilization procedures of various equipment and instruments.
  • Knowledge of organizing, containing, and transporting items of varying compounds, textures or quantities
  • Knowledge of transporting and disposing of hazardous materials and sharp objects according to hospital procedures
  • Knowledge of sterilization procedures of various equipment and instruments
  • Knowledge of wrapping and repackaging sterilized instruments
  • Skill in using sterilization equipment and instruments
  • Skill in arranging instruments on surgical trays
  • Skill in following written instructions and performing multiple tasks
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others
