Our Global Casino business is one of the fastest growing business units within Carnival Corporation and a top contributor to our bottom line. In fact, with nearly 100 casino-ships currently operation around the world, Carnival Corporation is one of the largest and most innovative Casino & Gaming Operators in the world.

We are currently seeking a Casino Senior Financial Analyst. For the Global Casino Operations group, the Casino Senior Financial Analyst will design and prepare ad hoc compensation and commission related analyses/reports for management review of various Casino Marketing programs. The position also assists with or leads financial projects, plans, and forecasts as needed. This position will be a key contributor to the future success of the Planning team by providing a strong professional presence, technical expertise and a business/operational focus. The position will work with management throughout the department and company to develop, track and analyze key performance indicators to assess and ensure operational strength. Together with the Director & Assistant Controller and the Manager of Casino Financial Planning & Analysis, will assist in the preparation and consolidation of the marketing results reporting, annual budget and forecast deliverables. Challenges include working with data from various sources as well as coordinating the collection of data from various individuals (i.e., shipboard Casino Management, brands, shoreside Casino Management, etc.).

Essential Functions

Marketing Results Reporting

  • Extract data from various systems/files and compile financial results of marketing programs
  • Develop methods to streamline/automate internal processes and reporting
  • Use analytical skills to sift through large amounts of data and turn this information into key qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Prepare reports and provide to Operations and Marketing
  • Compensation programs- Design and prepare ad hoc compensation and commission related reports for management.
  • Leverage service experience to communicate with affected associates effectively.
  • Understand data elements contained in various systems/tools and extract and interpret data for issue resolution.
  • Complete ad hoc report requests as needed.

Database Administration

  • Coordinate review and update of Casino Management and Accounting System (CMAS) budget and voyage/itinerary details.
  • Maintains database performance by ensuring database parameters and continuous system operating segments.
  • Resolves problems/trouble shooting when system issues arise related to itinerary differences.
  • Coordinates with internal IT and external vendor software support teams as needed to resolve system issues.

Financial Planning and Analytics

  • Develop methods to streamline budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Assist in preparation of financial budget and forecast deliverables.
  • Develop new tools and analyses, independently and collaboratively, to provide insights into business trends.
  • Communicate complex analysis and results with recommendation to all levels of management, including senior management.

Projects & Other

  • Prepare and/or review ad hoc reports and analysis as requested.
  • Assist in projects as requested.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in comparable role performing and improving financial planning, forecasting and analysis, total of 5-6 years of experience in financial database management and/or financial analysis.
  • Strong problem solving and data analytic skills.
  • Knowledge of compensation and data analysis
  • Superior Excel skills, Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and strong proficiency in Word and Outlook,
  • Proficiency in Oracle Financials and IBM Cognos TM1 software or comparable applications or tools strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
  • Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures, profitability and return on investment modeling.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to completion, coordinate action plans and implement decision strategies.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team and comfortable working with all levels of management.
  • Positive, team player attitude with a desire to learn.
