CAD Designer/Drafter

Our Engineering Firm is seeking an Intermediate Engineering Drafter. The successful candidate will be required to prepare drawings on CAD under the supervision of a Registered Engineer and the direct supervision of a CAD Manager. Although we consider ourselves a small company we have been growing steadily and we continue to grow and look for people that would love to grow with us.

Candidates must be located within driving distance to Fort Lauderdale for consideration. No relocation allowances or travel expenses to interview will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have:

• An understanding of Engineering Design processes including: Field Measurement, Plan Layout, Building Code requirements
• Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software (AutoCAD/Draftsight and Sketchup/Revit preferred)
• Must be able to read blue prints
• An understanding of Redline practices
• Strong organization and prioritization skills
• High proficiency using computers/tablets/smartphones
• Strong logic and critical thinking skills
• Ability to multitask
• Must be able to communicate well in English
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company
• experienced AutoCAD 2D for residential/commercial building drafting and structural details
• Ability to work from old pdf base drawings, sketches, instructions provided by engineers
• Ability to carry out field measurements and inspections
• Ability to prepare whole plan sets for building permit applications
• Knowledge about Florida Building Code, wood, concrete, and steel structures
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Strong computer skills
• Minimum Associate/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Relevant Fields
• Minimum of two years experience in structural design/drafting
• Local in Dade County or Broward County

Experience Requirements:

Degree or Certificate in Design or Drafting. Consideration will be given for a combination of education and work experience.

Minimum 2 years’ experience (3+ years preferred)

Applicant should have experience with Engineering/Architectural projects.

Ability to multitask in a fastpaced demanding environment

Skills and Abilities Applicant must be proficient in AutoCAD/Draftsight (Sketchup/Revit is a plus)

Google Office Applications including Doc, Spreadsheet, Presentation, etc.

Internet Applications including FTP Applications, Cloud Services, etc. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual interested in gaining experience in a professional environment.
