CAD Design Drafter

Apollo is recruiting on behalf of a client for a direct-hire position in Park City UT!

Job Summary:

CAD Designer of Gear Systems including Aerospace Actuators, Accessory Gearboxes and Propeller Drives. Other applications include Power Generation Gearboxes and Winch Drives.

Position requires :

• Expertise and experience in CAD modeling and surfacing of rotating equipment including bearing analysis (A.B.Jones), spur and bevel gear design and analysis (AGMA), aluminum castings and lubrication and cooling systems.
• Minimum of 2000 hours experience with CATIA V5 or Pro/ECreo (Pro/ECreo preferred) is necessary.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a requirement.
• Experience in electro-mechanical system integration and development is a plus.
• Familiarity with formal Qualification Standards such as DO160, MIL-STD-810 or EUROCAE ED-14 is desirable.

Job function requires:

• Timely preparation of all associated engineering drawings.
• CAD Designer will complete details of major layout drawings in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
• Determines correct scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.

Minimum education/experience/skills:

• 5 plus years’ experience in CAD modeling Environment.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in CAD design software.
• 5 plus years’ experience in gear industry: aerospace, marine or power-shift transmissions.

Preferred job related qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and support Project Engineering and Project Schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $90,000.00 /year
