Business/Finance Analyst

Job Description

This Business/Financial Analyst will be a part of a corps of analysts who provide the data mining and analytical foundation for the FP&A team. The FP&A team sits with the CFO and provides insights for key departmental and corporate decisions for both long-term strategic direction and short-term tactical initiatives

Working alongside the rest of the FP&A team, this analyst will focus primarily on using SQL, Tableau and Excel to build, maintain, and analyze company, financial, KPI, Ad-Hoc reports, and other datasets related to our Engineering, Product, & Content Teams

The analyst will also drive scenario analysis as needed on departmental and company expenses related to headcount, cost of revenue, capital structure, and other expenses to help drive business insight and efficiency

The analyst will help build and maintain some financial Excel models, but we’re looking for someone who has an interest in finance AND knows how to navigate big data sets with the right software and tools Qualifications

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 1-3 years of applicable analytical experience

Fluent in SQL, able to run ad hoc queries and a working knowledge of Joins, Unions, Aggregations

Ability and drive to learn quickly. If not already experience with Tableau, then the ability to learn and become proficient quickly. (In-depth training available on the Pluralsight.com Platform)

Ability to excel in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment

Analytical and problem solving mindset – good communication skills (for communicating within the finance team and if needed at the executive level)

Preferred:
Experience with Tableau desktop a big plus

Experience with ERPs and financial planning systems such as Adaptive Planning and/or NetSuite a plus, but not required

Basic understanding of how Python, R, and Matlab can be used for data analysis a bit plus

Experience with Mekko Graphics also a plus
