This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk), hourly, days position based on the Lowry campus in Denver, CO.

Summary – Business Services Coordinator, Hospital Collections

Business Services Coordinator leads other Business Services staff members by assisting with billing, collecting and auditing of patient accounts. Performs and delegates routine job functions as assigned.

Job Duties

Delivers successful service to our internal and external customers by adhering to critical success standards: demonstrating accountability and commitment to quality and safety standards; taking ownership in the financial success of the hospital with appropriate resource use and management; providing exceptional customer service; and exerting effort to insure a positive work environment that demonstrates dedication to the hospital’s mission, vision and values.

Regular attendance, as outlined in the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy, is an essential function of this position. Promptly resolves all accounts receivable and/or customer service issues escalated from staff and communicates to all involved parties in a timely manner.

Must function in a highly computerized technical environment, maintaining competency and knowledge of multiple internal/external software systems. Assists with the training and cross training of employees, as well as new employee orientation to the dept. Create/Modify training manuals as necessary. Maintains knowledge of Federal, State and local billing regulations and informing management and compliance department of discrepancies.

Maintains knowledge of Managed Care Contracts and informing management and Managed Care and Contracts Dept of any discrepancies. Maintains knowledge of EDI payment posting and cash applications process, and informing management of any discrepancies. Responsible for knowing and demonstrating National Patient Safety standards.

Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct.

Health Care/Managed Care Knowledge 3rd party billing, collections, cash applications Understanding of UB-04, CPT, ICD-9/10 Customer Service, Communication, Partnering, Problem-Solving, Change

Requirements

High School or GED equivalent

·

2 years related experience

Preferred

·

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

·

Coding, MS Office experience preferred
