QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Human Resources/ Accounting/Finance/Business required; Experience in Accounts Payable and Purchasing; Background in Accounting; Ability to use various software packages

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance & Operations

SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB GOAL: To administer the Human Resource & Business Affairs of DeKalb Preparatory Academy in such a way as to provide the best possible services in the areas of human capital management, payroll, accounts receivable and payable. To assist the Director of Finance & Operations as follows:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Entering Human Resource CPI data/school-wide management of personnel certification and professional development tracking.
  • Assist in developing current budget consistent with Board policy providing HR/Payroll reports.
  • Suggest potential ways of improving the cost-effectiveness of the District operation from a human resources perspective relative to benchmarking best practices in healthcare management programs
  • Book cash receipts in the Quick Books systems
  • Review and issuance of W2 after processed by payroll vendor
  • Accounts Payable payments into Quick Books
  • Check Processing Accounts Payable
  • Reconcile nursing bill to time sheets
  • Management of workers compensation policy and reporting
  • Preparation of purchase orders and payment of AP bills
  • Place all district orders for supplies upon written approval providing purchase orders where accepted.
  • Reporting of workers’ compensation claims and unemployment claims
  • Leave of Absence Request Management
  • Responsible for completing garnishment reports and calculations and responding to the writ of garnishment within the allocated time 10 to 20 days.
  • Responsible for onboarding i.e. completion of paperwork and fingerprinting.
  • Responsible for health care paperwork with onboarding
  • Assist the Director of Finance & Operations in conducting New Hire Orientation
  • Sign off on time sheet & supervision of contracted nursing staff.
  • Manages Field Trips i.e. management of approval forms, bus forms, lunch forms, the binder of annual trips.
  • Counting of cash write daily deposits secure in bank bags
  • Assist with annual audit

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration or related field; aPHR (Associate Professional in Human Resources) or PHR (Professional Human Resources Certification) and/or local government experience preferred.

ATTENDANCE & DEPENDABILITY: Reports to work consistently with minimal absenteeism. Ability to perform work duties during normal work hours.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Other responsibilities assigned from time to time as deemed necessary by the Director of Finance & Operations or Head of School

EVALUATION: A performance evaluation of this position will be conducted by the Director of Finance & Operations on a bi-annual basis.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is At-Will – Terminatable by DPA at any given time.

In the state of Georgia, employment is presumed to be “at-will” when no contract exists between the employer and employee. At-will employment arrangements allow either the employer or employee to terminate the working relationship at any given time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $46,000.00 /year
