Business Intelligence Developer (Application Engineer)

OHSU Business Intelligence Management Division (BIMD) is embarking on a multi-year effort surrounding the operationalization of Epic’s Caboodle Data Warehouse (CDW) on SQL Server.
The operationalization of CDW will include OHSU’s retirement of a legacy custom-built data warehouse known as OHSUDW that currently is housed on Oracle 12c.
Within OHSUDW is essential reporting for our Clinical Transplant Services organization.
This position will serve in an analyst/developer role to assure a successful transition of this reporting to CDW and relevant Epic-delivered solutions.
In addition, this position is responsible for supporting Clinical Transplant Services reporting and related project efforts as directed by senior leadership of our Transplant organization.

This position is responsible for metadata, report, dashboard design and development utilizing SAP Business Objects and IBM Cognos software.
Strong collaboration with Transplant in order to capture requirements and execute these through iterative development approaches such as Agile are hallmarks of this position.
The ideal candidate will also possess a good understanding of healthcare terminology, the data model of Epic Caboodle Data Warehouse, Epic Clarity, and ETL tools such as SQL Server SSIS.

This position will work closely with Clinical Transplant Services, IT staff and project managers, gathering customer requirements using standard processes, and will develop, validate, test and maintain data and report documentation, contribute to security architecture design, report scheduling, framework/universe development, and implementation support. The person will facilitate communication upward and across project teams. Solution development will follow the OHSU software development methodology and adhere to data governance, data security, change management, and report standards. Interactions will include working directly with customers and team members on project and support issues, as well as facilitation of communication upward and across project teams.

This position is also responsible for detailed technical analysis to assure the availability and accuracy of data contained in the BIMD supported data warehouses and systems. This will include availability for rotation through an after-hours on-call support model as needed for upgrades, project go lives or to provide ongoing support of new systems that may have 24×7 support agreements. This will require a broad knowledge of OHSU BI systems and workflows.
