Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

HPD is seeking an experienced Oracle OBIEE Developer that can work directly with business analysts and subject matter experts to map requirements, develop, and deploy solutions within their Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) environment.

Working as part of the Data Management group, the OBIEE BI developer is responsible for managing how information and data relate throughout an organization’s business process landscape. He/she will work with business analysts, senior database administrators and users to:

OBIEE BI developer will be responsible for documenting the Business Intelligence (BI) subject areas and integration processes.

Build and extend semantic information models to represent the work of agency program areas.

Ensure that the datamart and database design conform to the overall data modeling standards, guidelines, best practices and approved modeling techniques and approaches.

Help maintain an enterprise-level data dictionary, by documenting all entities, their relationships, and all data attributes for the agency.

Coordinate with the project teams and others to ensure that data implementations align with the

enterprise. Information architecture, and meet the applicable standards.

Work jointly with the database administrator in developing the data objects and data models to support data warehouse/business intelligent activities.

Required Experience

• OBIEE Design and Deployment: 5 years

• Oracle Business Intelligence Dashboards, Reporting Design and Development: 5 years

• ETL Development via Oracle Data Integrator (ODI): 3 years

• Experience with Oracle Database: 5 years

• Writing SQL queries to perform complex data analysis: 3 years

• Experience with Oracle Database: 5 years

• Solid understanding of dimensional model (Star Schema & Snowflake Schema)

Minimum Qual Requirements

(1) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus a certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computer operations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframe environment, gained since June, 1996, one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or (Note: If you have a certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, indicate the Name of the School, Number of Hours Completed, and the Date of Graduation in Section A.4 [Courses] on page 2 of the Education and Experience Test Paper).

(2) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in “1” above, including one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or

(3) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, fulltime experience as described in “1” above, including one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or

(4) A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1,” “2,” or “3” above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computer operations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframe environment, gained since June, 1996, one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.

NOTE: In order to have your experience accepted as Project Leader or Major Contributor experience, you must explain in detail how your experience qualifies you as a project leader or as a major contributor. Experience in computer software development and maintenance, technical support, quality assurance (QA), hardware installation, or as an end user will not be accepted for meeting the minimum qualification requirements.

Preferred Skills

Minimum of 5 years of progressive industry experience in the field OBIEE BI development, database design and data architecture of OLTP and data warehouse is preferred.

Ability to work with database administrators, application designers and developers, business analysts and users to define the information needs of the organization.

• OBIEE development experience report development and metadata repository configuration.

• Experience in core OBIEE applications dashboards, and repository maintenance.

• Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher, and with BI applications.

• Experience implementing, supporting, and maintaining Oracle BI applications.

• Proficient in BI Desktop Tools.

• Proficient in BI 11g Publisher.

• Proficient in BI 11g Analytics.

• Proficient in BI 11g database SQL language.

• Detailed knowledge of XML.

• Detailed knowledge of Erwin.

• Strong communication, influencing and leadership skills.

• Excellent verbal and writing skills.

• Experience in debugging and optimizing SQL queries.

• Should have a good understanding of ETL concepts.

• Should have good proficiency in transformation and mapping using ODI/Informatica.

• Familiarity with Oracle database architecture.
