Business Intelligence Analyst

SB is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to lead the technical implementation of current BI solutions, by leveraging knowledge of database architecture, data warehouse modeling, datamarts, data analysis, and software development methodologies. Utilize investment knowledge to perform reporting through designing and creating a variety of investment and operational reports as well as other investment operational functions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the complete BI Solution life-cycle from concept to delivery
  • Lead the full report development life cycle, including working with Investments team to gather and document business requirements including: data, layout, and delivery requirements.
  • Create and support data models optimized to support BI analytic tools such as QlikSense
  • Create and manage data warehouse database(s)
  • Play a variety of roles with a high degree of proficiency throughout the BI project lifecycle: Business Analyst, Solution Architect, Metadata Modeler, Report Developer, OLAP Developer, etc.
  • Analyze the existing transactional data repositories to identify and create data mapping and business rules for data ETL based on business needs
  • Independently perform Data Quality Analysis and create reports of findings
  • Develop, create, and maintain reports for internal and external uses
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of standardized procedures for supporting the reporting function according to best practices and industry standards
  • Contributes to the data management process by ensuring appropriate store of information for reporting needs.
  • Participate in business process testing and requirements gathering where downstream data store is impacted
  • Work with business unit personnel, members of Investment Accounting, Investments, Operations, and IT to gather needed requirements for reporting and anticipate reporting needs for the investment process
  • Establishes regular validation processes to ensure data integrity and recommends new reports, feeds, and processes to support the business model

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or related degree requiring report development skills and analytical thinking;
  • Experience with Qlik Sense/View, and/or other data visualization-oriented BI tools;
  • Understanding of report development, data modeling, data mining and analysis;
  • Advanced experience using spreadsheets and database tools (Excel, MS SQL Server, Oracle);
  • Programming experience including T-SQL, PL-SQL, and/or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA);
  • Highly detail oriented – absolute commitment to accuracy is required;
  • Achievement oriented – focused on getting work done quickly and efficiently;
  • Strong technical/analytical capability with excellent problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with presentation skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks of highly varied nature in a timely manner; and
  • Strong business acumen, and existing knowledge of financial services industry preferred.
