SUMMARY

The Business Analyst I functions as the liaison between revenue cycle operations and the Epic IS team; provide role based training for the revenue cycle area that they represent; identifies and facilitates process improvement initiative within the area they represent and collaboratively across the revenue cycle; assists with the responsibility of data analysis and reporting of departmental measures in order to support achievement of operational objectives. They act as the translator in the development of business requirements and technical requirements in the optimization of operational workflows supported by Epic and other software systems. The primary goal of the role is to ensure that the daily operating workflows are well supported by the technology and that expected results are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field, or management information systems required (May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for either the education or experience requirement)
  • 3+ years in healthcare revenue cycle operations within their respective area, including job responsibility/aptitude for data mining, analysis and Adhoc reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications routinely used in performance reporting and monitoring such as Excel, Power Point, and Access a must.
  • Prior experience with revenue cycle systems implementations or an Electronic Medical Record a plus
  • Ability to complete Epic certification within their respective application within 12 months
  • Ability to work effectively across the revenue cycle, operations and IT environments to affect positive change
  • Communicate effectively with team as well as operational and IT managers – both written and verbal
  • Skilled at problem solving; Strong organizational skills
  • Possesses an understanding of revenue cycle system(s) capabilities to address process requirements
  • Physical requirements are minimal with occasional standing or walking; minimal lifting or other physical exertion. Requires close and distance vision; the ability to talk, hear and manual dexterity. The work environment involves occasional exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases. The noise level is moderate
