Business Analyst

First Derivatives (FD) is capital markets and technology firm with over 1,800 employees globally. We combine financial domain knowledge & technical expertise to tackle and solve complex business problems across the front, middle and back office of financial institutions .

Our business analyst team is looking for analytical thinkers who can provide guidance, recommend solutions and interface with various stakeholders. We seek individuals who are open to working across multiple different asset classes and investment platforms. It is an opportunity to expand your knowledge within the capital markets field.

Responsibilities Include:

• An in-depth awareness of financial theory
• An idea of how business problems can be resolved.
• Collecting, understanding, and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans
• Document workflows and results of business analysis and obtain sign-off from client on the specifications
• provide the link between the customer, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the development life-cycle

Desired Skills and Experience

• 2-7 years experience working in a Business Analyst/ Project Management role, particularly coming from a financial background
• Financial Domain knowledge across any asset class (equities, derivatives, fixed income, commodities etc)
• Proficiency in at least one of the following: Excel, VBA, SQL, python, shell
• An awareness of technical issues and the ability to present findings in a manner understood by senior management.
• Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes
• Demonstrable experience writing BRD’s & requirements specifications for Information Systems
• End to end experience of the project/software life-cycle
• Self starter who can work with minimal direction
• Ability to formulate deliverables and manage their own time effectively in generating output
• Proven experience interacting directly with end users

Salary: $70,000.00 to $130,000.00 /year
