Our mission in Transaction Risk Management Services (TRMS) is to make Amazon.com the safest place to transact online. TRMS safeguards every financial transaction across all Amazon sites, while striving to ensure that these efforts are transparent to our legitimate customers. As such, TRMS designs and builds the software systems, risk models and operational processes that minimize risk and maximize trust in Amazon.com.
As a Business Analyst in TRMS, you will be responsible for analyzing data to identify specific instances of risk, broader risk trends, points of customer friction, and developing scalable solutions for prevention. You will work mainly with the product technology team members to assess fraudulent activity and dive deep to uncover root cause drivers to fluctuations. In addition you will be responsible for continuing on with the findings to help discover solutions and assess the opportunities of executing proposed solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics or other business/analytical disciplines.
  • Very strong proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel and data management tools with data mining experience
  • Experience as a Financial Analyst or Business Analyst
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • An independent problem solver who can make high quality judgments and decisions quickly with excellent organization skills to work across functions and upwards.
  • Experience of dealing with results, metrics and data management and desire to create and build new processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening, communicating, and negotiating skills coupled with ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise is required.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional experience in business intelligence or data analysis on large databases.
  • MBA/MS or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • Advanced business intelligence and data mining skills using SQL.
  • Experience in building executive dashboards using Tableau
