JOB DESCRIPTION: Bookkeeper

Position Overview: The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements for compliance for National Dizzy & Balance Center, Ltd & NDBC Administrative Services.

Hours: Hourly Monday, Wednesday & Friday up to 24 hours/week (end of month possibility of extra hours). Punctuality and good attendance are essential. Paid time off, and other schedule deviations to be approved by Administrative Director.

Typical Physical Demands: May require prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copy and fax machines, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eye sight to record, prepare and communicate appropriately. May require lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Reports To: Administrative Director

Duties:

  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
  • Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Arranging payment on accounts
  • Monthly reconciliation and reporting to Manager
  • Any other job duties assigned

Performance Requirements:

Attention to Details, Discreet, Confidentiality are a must.

Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

Understands Revenue Cycle, Budgeting, Forecasting

Advanced skilled in Quickbooks. Intermediate skilled in Microsoft Suite.

Experience in HealthCare preferred

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Healthcare Management, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting role.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent judgment and initiative appropriately.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize appropriately.
