Back End Java DevOps Developer

EASi, one of the nation’s fastest growing engineering services and solutions providers is looking for a Back-end Software Developer with experience in CI/CD concepts to work a long term contract engagement on one of our project teams at a large well known customer in the Research Triangle Park.

Description

As a developer this individual will be responsible for developing code to help automate the on-boarding and testing process for multiple development teams. The incumbent will be required to use the systems they are supporting. Jenkins, Artifactory, and SonarQube are the build tools being supported today with Atlassian Stash/Bitbucket providing SCM services.

This team is building a software layer between engineers and the engineering tools that they use (Jenkins, Artifactory, and SonarQube) to make it more user friendly for engineers to access and use these tools. This involves developing a lot of automation and working with internalized open source tools. This group wants to remove the need for engineers to keep up on the latest and greatest tool sets out there and do that for them so that engineers can focus on new product development and this group can focus on finding, maintaining, and supporting engineering tools to make their jobs easier. This team focuses on engineering tools for continuous integration and continuous development CI/CD.

Desired Skills/Experience

Required

– 5+ years of recent Java web development experience (new Java 8 features highly desired)

– Experience building apps with Spring, Hibernate, and Tomcat

– Experience building Single Page Applications (SPA’s) (AngularJS and Bootstrap a plus)

– Experience creating RESTful web services

– Recent HTML/CSS/Javascript experience interacting with RESTful backend services

– Knowledge of building and using Docker containers (containerizing Java-based applications highly desired)

– Seasoned developer using Git and various workflows (forking, gitflow, etc.)

– Experience with Git using various workflows (forking, gitflow, etc.)

– Experience using continuous integration and delivery concepts and software (Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, etc.)

– Unit testing using JUnit and mock objects

– Fluency in Unix/Linux operating systems and Bash

– Can identify basic scalability pitfalls

– Learns new things quickly

– Available to handle support cases

Desired

* Experience with Spring MVC/Spring Data JPA

* Containerizing Java-based applications with Docker

* Hands-on knowledge of Docker orchestration platforms such Kubernetes, Rancher, Swarm, Mesos

* Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus

* Experience at running a Jenkins, Artifactory, or SonarQube server

* Experience using or running OpenStack

* Has a GitHub account and contributes to open-source projects

* Security background with setting up applications and services in the DMZ
