Aviation Research Associate – Commodities and Global Markets (New York)

Commodities and Global Markets provides clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities.

Our equities research team is the cornerstone of Macquarie Securities’ broking services and offers wide research coverage of stocks in the Asia Pacific region and South Africa with select specialist verticals in the US, Canada and Europe. Our highly-rated team of more than 350 analysts covers more than 1,800 stocks.

We continually modify our product range to meet the needs of our growing client base. We were the first research institution to introduce a strategy unit and a quantitative group and the first to combine all analysts’ forecasts into one database.

An opportunity has opened up in our New York office for an Aviation Research Associate to join our platform to assist our Senior Analyst in launching this new coverage universe. In this role, you would mainly be involved in the analysis of Airlines, Aircraft Leasing & Aerospace and Defence companies.

You will help the Senior Analyst launch on all of the new stocks, and then assist with industry analysis, financial modelling, and the preparation of reports that our institutional clients use in their investment process.

You will also have the opportunity to assist with client requests, liaise with research and sales teams globally and may be involved in broader industry and corporate events.

The successful candidate will:

• Have at least a bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline.
• Be self-motivated, have an intrinsic interest in equity markets and a desire to create quality research.
• Exceptional financial analysis and modelling skills, a strong understanding of valuation techniques is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas succinctly.
• (Preferred) previous industry experience in the collection/analysis of data such as equity research, consulting or data science.
