We currently have an opportunity for an Associate Brand Manager. This is a marketing position that will provide experience in marketing fundamentals, including sales forecasting, creative development, promotional planning, and retail analytics. In this role, the Associate Brand Manager will learn and capably apply analytics and marketing fundamentals to provide recommendations to build strong PCH brands. As part of this role, colleagues will be periodically rotated to other brands to broaden experience breadth and build proficiency in different skill sets.

  • Learn and apply analytics and communicate key performance metrics with growing responsibility; may lead cross-functional projects or specific marketing programs.
  • Apply marketing fundamentals to help develop elements of the marketing plan.
  • Over time, growing responsibility around analytics and marketing planning; Greater exposure to and management of budget, cross-functional teams, and external vendors and agencies.

Responsibilities

ChapStick is the leading lip balm brand in the US; and continues to set record breaking sales year after year. With a focus on driving strong growth for the brand,this Associate Brand Manager will be responsible for ensuring the brand fundamentals are thriving; and help to lead the Marketing Plan for the Base Chapstick business include Classic Chapstick, Cherry Chapstick, and Chapstick Lip Moisturizer. This Associate Brand Manager will also be responsible for managing the communication and claims approval process for the brand including social media.

As part of their responsibilities, the Associate Brand Manager in this position will;

  • Lead base business growth initiatives

– Optimize Distribution; work with sales and sales strategy to identify and develop distribution

opportunities

– Optimize Assortment | In-Stock; work with supply planning, demand planning, retail execution

teams to develop a strategy | plan to minimize ChapStick out-of-stocks

– Pricing; work with sales, sales strategy, finance to develop and execute ChapStick pricing

strategy

  • Gain customer-focus by working with sales strategy and sales teams to develop COT strategy and execution
  • Own go-to-market promotional strategy and execution
  • Lead consumer engagement initiatives, including working with digital agency to develop digital strategy and working with Consumer Engagement, PR, and Trade teams to effectively implement and drive brand strategy/initiatives.
  • Own budget management as well as the P&L, including managing day-to-day budgeting and expense reporting, tracking budget spending, completing all financial submissions, and working to help develop ROI measures for all Marketing and Trade programs and tactics.
  • Coordinate all FSI & Consumer promotion and special pack planning
  • Coordinate and manage execution of seasonal programs; inclusive of new flavors | promotion packs | displays
  • Manage and continue to build our E-Commerce offerings and presence online for Chapstick.
  • Provide overall brand support via business analytics (IRI | Shipment | P&L Management)

– Proactively track, analyze and communicate data analysis to inform recommendations of

brand and category performance across factory & retail (syndicated/panel) elements

– Provide input into forecasting.

  • Supports development through data and analytics and over time executes key components of the marketing plan
  • Coordinates activities with key vendors, agencies and cross-functional partners.
  • This position reports to the Director, Marketing, Chapstick

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree in marketing or a related discipline required. MBA preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years professional business experience (Marketing, Sales, or Research preferred but not required), preferably within a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Over-the-Counter (OTC) organization.
  • Interest in the beauty category – ideal
  • Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of basic marketing skills
  • Must have demonstrated analytical skills with ability to review data, identify trends, and present information to senior managers.
  • Must have basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills/ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent planning and budgeting skills.
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Ability to influence
